Title : .NET (Web Developer) Location : Boston, MA Duration : 6+ Months The Web Developer will be responsible for the following tasks : - Reports to the GIC CIO and MAGIC Modernization Project Manager. - Works with technical team members to learn new development middleware platform and for guidance on technical development procedures. - Partner with the Business System Analyst for determining functional requirements. - Document technical specifications and design. - Possess and utilize the programming skills necessary to complete assignments within our development environment. - Recommend best development practices with team members for as the basis for the new application. - Work with Business Systems Analyst to provide input into documenting acceptance test plans and detailed test scripts. - Complete all unit testing of all development code. Requirements: - 5+ years experience developing web applications on a .NET platform with the Visual Studio IDE and the Visual Studio SDK. - Experience designing and developing web-based self service applications for customers is required. - Experience designing or in depth familiarity with industry standard implementations for *customer ID management* on the web is essential. - Apply problem solving and technical skills to debug code and integration issues. - Solid understanding of web development techniques including detailed understanding of Object-oriented concepts and specific knowledge of .NET objects. - Solid knowledge of multi-tiered system architectures involving web services and application servers, and middleware products that bridge data between mainframe and PC server platforms. - Web development skills: ASP.NET <http://asp.net/>; C#; XML; IIS web service platform; HTML - Database: MS SQL Server experience writing queries, stored procedures, relational database design, and creation. - Familiarity with business workflow applications and apply concepts to systems design. - Excellent oral, written communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to conceptualize new technical solutions and processes that meet business requirements.
