Job Title: Java Developer with GWT experience Location: District of Columbia Duration:6+ Months contract with extensions Primary Responsibilities: § Migrate the integration tier of an existing application from EJB-2 Session beans to JPA/ Spring Beans under the direction of the project architect. § Migrate the data tier of an existing application from the libation ORM tool to JPA 2.0. § Design and develop new modules in GWT, Spring and JPA at the direction of the project development lead. § Work closely with other developers on the project who are refactoring other parts of the system. § Participate in peer code reviews, code management, testing, and other well-defined development procedures. § Contribute and produce technical documentation as assigned for the overall project artifact library. § Conform to client standards for code development, maintenance, and management. Functional Skills: § Very high attention to detail – most of this work is reproducing functionality currently implemented in one technology into another. The candidate must be able to fully understand from the existing code base all of the features that must be implemented, minimizing issues that make it to QC. § Ability to work without a lot of supervision. § Strong focus on unit testing. Required Technical Skills: § 5+ yrs - Hands-on J2EE development and deployment § 5+ yrs - experience with GWT, Spring and JPA is must § 4+ yrs – hands-on Java Unit Testing (JUnit, TestNG) Preferred Skills: § Familiarity with policies, procedures, build processes, deployment processes, etc. § Any Sun Java developer certifications are a plus.
