Experience Required
Required: Bachelor's degree; 4-7 years of experience in doing hands
on Business Objects system administration in medium to large size global
organization.
ยท Investment banking experience will be a plus.
Main Function
The Development Technology team within Barclays Capital is seeking a
Business Objects (BO) system administrator to make a key contribution to the
provision of Business objects environment to its UK/US stakeholder group.
The Development Technology team has a number of responsibilities, including:
1) Technology Council - The Tech Council provides a forum for peer review
of the new technologies entering the firm and recommending the obsolescence
or replacement of aged technologies.
2) Development and Collaboration Tools - Provide a suite of services and
tools covering Application Development, Build, Test, Collaboration and
Document Management.
3) Middleware - This team does engineering, strategy and support of the
middleware solutions (persistent and non persistent messaging solutions).
They are also responsible for Data integration, Business Process Management,
Complex Event Processing and Mediation services.
4) Business Intelligence - This team covers the BI strategy, consultancy and
support for Enterprise Reporting, and OLAP Analysis tools, detailed below.
BI Technology runs a number of BI Technologies including Business Objects,
Xcelsius, Crystal, Metadata Manager, Microsoft BI (Reporting Services,
analysis Services and Integration services), QlikView. There is plenty of
opportunity to learn these technologies in terms of support and development
going forward.
