Please share the requirement with the consultant before submitting resume *IMMEDIATE INTERVIEW TODAY ITSELF* Job Title: *Senior MS SQL Server DBA** *Location: Sacramento, CA Duration: 3 Months Rate: Market all inclusive *Primary Role:** *Under the direction of the Delivery and Integration Manager, the Database Administrator performs a wide range of highly technical duties associated with the design, implementation and support of highly-available, secure database services for mission-critical public safety operations. Emphasis is on SLA-driven high-availability, performance, and security. Work in this position involves technically difficult decisions dealing with mission critical platforms. Errors in judgment or poor performance could have significant impact on public safety and government expenses. Contacts are with superiors, co-workers, customers and vendor representatives. Information given and received is highly technical in nature; contacts require the ability to exercise a considerable degree of interpersonal skills; position is accountable for the results of the contact. Work is generally confined to a high-security, controlled environment and will entail off site work for problem resolution and/or project work. Position requires on-call rotation, carrying of a pager, and occasional weekend and/or evening work. Will require travel to locations throughout California. *Primary Responsibilities: ** *As a project leader on the development of database applications using Microsoft SQL Server: Analyze, design, code, test, implement, and maintain database software for complex applications of client-server based systems. Design, implement, and maintain high-performance, high-availability database architectures. Apply programming and project management tools, practices and standards to application development activities. Collect and produce 3rd party and original software configuration and installation documentation as appropriate, and provide data management support as needed. Perform routine database administration activities. Implement data security practices for database applications to prevent the disclosure, modification or destruction of data. Configure, implement and maintain database synchronization, replication, backup and recovery using Microsoft SQL Server and EMC RepliStor utilities. Monitor user and system activity logs; and maintaining data integrity for mission-critical databases. Responsible for design, development, implementation and auditing of database security policies, processes and other provisions in accordance with direction from Delivery and Integration Manager and client. Work effectively with users throughout application design, development and maintenance processes. Participate in troubleshooting user problems related to software, hardware and network usage. Resolve problems that involve database connectivity, data entry, software compatibility, and database server hardware failure. Perform quality assurance tasks related to the programming work of other staff and professional contractors. Utilize Crystal Reports or similar application to produce ad hoc reports as requested. Develop and maintain documentation for all applications All other duties as assigned. Responsible for the logical and physical integrity of the application database environment and the logical and physical database design. Monitors and tunes database performance during testing and production operations; coordinates and implements database sizing/resizing, restructures and index rebuilds; assists with capacity planning for future database growth; documents benchmarks and procedures needed to optimize performance; ensure that all performance guidelines are followed. Develops and modifies database definitions including entities, attributes, relationships, and referential integrity triggers. Maintains detailed database design documentation. Develops, maintains and supports procedures, standards and interfaces for centralized database management. Installs, patches, upgrades, maintains, and supports the database in all environments. Implements database access procedures including the administration of User IDs. Assists application development and maintenance staff with database questions and issues. Provides problem resolution support, specific to database issues; identifies and resolves database problems, coordinating with application users to determine symptoms and ensure accurate problem definition. Assists in development and improvement of database administration-related plans, processes, procedures, standards and priorities.
