Job Title: Jr. SQL Database Developer
Location : Boston,MA.
Duration : 6+ months contract.

*I. POSITION DESCRIPTION AND SCOPE *
The Database Developer is responsible for the development, testing, and
implementation of a Microsoft SQL-based relational database used to collect
and analyze data gathered through the Authority's custom web applications
that are both internal and client-facing.

*II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES *
o Understand logical and physical data models to implement database and data
access layers.
o Manage code migration to various environments according to development
life cycle.
o Build queries and functional views based on data model.
o Maintain and optimize Query server performance, including migrating new
changes from Online databases to Query database server.

III. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES *
o Support business and client users of web applications through back-end
database problem solving and troubleshooting of various issues as they
arise.
o Develop an understanding of  business processes and workflow in order to
align database architecture with such processes and workflow.
o Support the operational strategies and priorities of the Authority.

*V. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS *
o Experience in RDBMS systems.
o Experience in MS SQL Server.
o Expertise in database programming.
o Expertise in query writing using complex joins.
o Experience in query performance tuning is preferable.
o Experience in Visual Studio .Net.
o Experience with Reporting Services, Business Intelligent.
o Experience with Client/Server models.
o Experience in code migration, database change management, and data
management through the various stages of the development life cycle.
o Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and
as part of a team.
