Position: Java Developer Location: Minneapolis, MN Duration: 6 Months Administration and expansion of the J2EE Web Development capabilities for enterprise systems Business Need Division currently has multiple IT application development tasks requiring: . User Interface Design . Senior J2EE Technical Analysis & Developers Currently, staff involved with tasks and application support may not have the time, J2EE experience or expertise to support these tasks and applications. Supplementing ITS division staff will help provide an effective application support capability to meet the expanding short and long term goals of our business customers as we convert existing client server applications to J2EE applications. Project Deliverables Specific deliverables will be determined by the individual development supervisor and approved by ITS management. In general terms the individuals filling this role will need to provide the following technical services: . Work with the development supervisor and team on the maintenance of existing J2EE applications. . Work with business analyst & technical lead to understand business requirements. . Perform analysis and participate in the design of complex technical specifications, including performing object-oriented design and analysis, for the development of programs in accordance with clients software development standards . Transfer knowledge to existing team and newly hired team members . Track and report status of assigned work to the technical lead, applications supervisor, and / or project manager. . Assist in developing and executing module & system test plans . Support Quality Assurance staff during the QA phase by providing documentation or answering questions about the functionality of the application, and correcting reported defects. . Support other system development staff with understanding or integration issues. . Support Help Desk staff by answering questions about application functionality or assistance with identifying bugs or design flaws. . Support trainers and technical writers by describing application functionality.
