Project Managers are accountable for project initiation and planning, and for overseeing development, testing, implementation, and closeout. This includes initial project planning efforts such as developing the project scope, defining project guidelines, obtaining business and IT sponsor approvals, and coordinating the resources necessary to successfully complete the project. Once a project is set in motion, the Project Manager is expected to communicate major milestones, identify potential project risks, provide continuing direction to the project team, and conduct regular status meetings to review project activities. Project Management professionals are also responsible for prioritizing procedures for changing scope and project acceptance procedures. Nearing project completion, the Project Manager is expected to obtain feedback to assure that project efforts meet customer expectations for agreed upon schedule, cost and objectives. Project Managers are expected to provide the highest level of expertise in the application of the tools and techniques of the project management discipline. *Required Skills:* -- Insurance Industry Experience -- IT/Technical Management -- Life Cycle Development -- MS Office -- MS Project -- Project Management *Optional Skills:* Claims *Job Decsription:* This position is responsible for managing the end to end processes required for production support and enhancement work, including, but not limited to: working with business partners to coordinate and prioritize work (demand and capacity planning), resource management (including Hartford and vendor resources), managing the production support work logs, and applying the project management discipline to oversee the development of major and minor system enhancements. This position will provide Project Management oversight for maintenance in support of NADB. Specific job duties include, but are not limited to the following: Working with business partners to prioritize production support and maintenance work items. Developing close working relationships with all ITand business stakeholders. Managing/coordinating IT activities required for maintenance support. Working with all IT and business areas to ensure proper project plans are in place for enhancements and project milestones are met. This includes working with our external sourcing partner. Coordinate the rollout of production support and maintenance work. Enhancing and embracing accepted PM methods, procedures, and quality objectives. Developing and controlling time and cost estimates, project plans, resource plans and budget. Managing competing priorities. Monitoring project progress & communications. Maintaining accountability for managing expectations and ensuring quality. Possessing leadership/decision making. Providing ongoing work direction to project team. Creating an environment that enhances team motivation. Assuring maintenance team works in a cohesive manner. *WHAT QUALIFICATIONS ARE WE LOOKING FOR?* Qualified candidates will have the following requirements: Experience managing project(s)through the software development lifecycle.
