Position: .Net Developer Location: Knoxville, TN Duration: 3-6 Months, Possible Note: Need Local I am looking for a developer focusing on application development in a C# .Net, SQL 2005 environment. Main focus to include: development and participation in the release of features of applications and tools in a timely manner; develop and maintain backend systems, and other projects, while performing all aspects of creating and maintaining high quality applications; provide ongoing support to end-users of the applications; participating in the full Software Development Life Cycle, (SDLC), and interfacing with various internal and external business units. This candidate will also participate in maintaining and supporting legacy Visual Basic 6.0/SQL Server or Access applications for an integrated software product line. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Must have experience with ESRI mapping software (the number of years and extent of experience will affect the pay rate). Their experience should be in changing the graphic engine of the software. Legacy Microsoft Application Development (VB 6.0, SQL 2000, Microsoft Access) Microsoft C# (Microsoft .NET) Microsoft Windows Application development Microsoft SQL 2005 Full SDLC experience 5+ years of software development experience. 3+ years designing and developing applications and participating in the SDLC. 5+ years experience using MS SQL Server or other Relational Database Equivalent. 3+ year*s systems analysis experience. Requirements gathering, functional/technical design skills Demonstrate effective solution development capabilities. Demonstrate high degree of initiative and self guided work management. Must be willing to do whatever is necessary to meet agreed upon deliverable deadlines. Design and develop new .net applications and/or maintain existing .net applications. Perform Problem Management and cause analysis. Application support, fix bugs, support for development. Maintain thorough understanding of applicable technology, tools and processes. Troubleshoot complex business requirements and processes. Involvement in Testing and QA. Research and evaluate alternatives. Participate in application design and specification development. Ability to initiate individual development efforts and develop a 'clean' system. Good verbal and written communication skills. Strong working knowledge of Visual Studio 2003-2005. Strong .Net experience, C#, XML, XSLT. Strong knowledge of SQL with design and architecture of relational databases. Minimum 2 years experience designing and developing .Net applications. Minimum 1-2 years experience designing and developing C# applications. Knowledge about .net framework. DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Experience with creating software installations using tools such as WISE or InstallShield is a plus. Experience with Data Dynamics Active Reports for .NET and Crystal Reports is a plus. Ability to work in a team environment and independently. Strong communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical users. Self motivated, strong sense of ownership/accountability, and results oriented with the ability to manage time and schedules effectively. Willingness to learn new technologies and apply them. Ability to understand and follow project lifecycle guidelines and standards. Ability to do whatever is needed to hit agreed upon deadlines. Ability to travel, deploy and train is a plus.
