Key's to this position Cognos 8 BI BI Cube - Cube design and build experience a MUST Translate MS BI implementation into Cogons 8 implementation. *DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: * - The key element to this position is strong experience in requirements analysis and solution design as well as heavy experience in implementation with Cognos 8 BI. - 5+ years of experience in Analysis, Design and Development in the field of Database, Data Warehouse, and implementation of Cognos applications. - Experience in development and implementation of Business Intelligence Applications using Cognos Tools such as Cognos 8 BI, Cognos ReportNet, Cognos Impromptu7.x, Impromptu Web Reports, Cognos Power Play, PowerPlay Transformer, Cognos Upfront, Cognos Visualizer, Cognos Query, Cognos Script, PowerPrompts and Access Manager. - Proficient in designing Model using Framework Manager, Query Studio and Report Studio for ad-hoc reporting and Advanced Report Authoring. - Create Score Cards, Dashboards and Key performance Indicators for decision support using Metric Studio - Experience in Installation, Configuration, Monitoring and Management of Informatica and Cognos Report net - Experience in Designing, Developing and Maintaining Catalogs, Cognos Impromptu and PowerPlay Reports. Using PowerPlay Transformer created Multidimensional models and Cubes - Expertise in working with Client/Server applications using Oracle, SQL Server in Windows environment. - Experience in Creating Reports – List, Cross-Tab, Conditional Formatting, Drill-Trough, Master-Detail and Summary Reports. - Experience in setting up Security, Creating users and User classes using Access Manager. - Expertise in OLTP/OLAP System Analysis and developing Database Schemas like Star Schema and Snowflake Schema for Relational and Dimensional Modeling. - Experience in SQL and PL/SQL to write Stored Procedures, Functions, Packages and Triggers. - Full life-cycle development of Data Warehousing. - Strong oral and written communication skills and an excellent team player with exceptional analytical and problem solving skills. *MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES REQUIRED:* · Broad, general understanding of BI, data warehousing, operational data stores, analytical systems, data marts, decision support systems, business information systems, dimensional modeling. · 5+ years Cognos experience · Strong experience with COGNOS 8 BI, PowerPlay and COGNOS ReportNet is a plus · Good oral and written communication skills (effective with management) · Ability to perform on a high-delivery team · Strong Reasoning and problem solving skills · Self-motivator and focused on delivering technical solutions for business benefit -- Thanks & Regards...
