Candidates without that key skill will not be considered***** * **Job Description:* * * *Responsibilities* We are looking for a contract Senior Database Engineer to join our Product Development Team. In this critical role, you will be involved in designing, developing, building and engineering OLTP databases that operate in a high transaction volume, mission-critical production environment. Database schema design geared for performance using Microsoft SQL Server. Provide support to the development team by defining the requirements, developing, and testing stored procedures to ensure the quality and accuracy of data. Analysis and modeling of the performance data that might impact our mission critical services. Proven experience in data modeling, the ability to communicate effectively to engineers, managers and program managers, excellent problem solving skills, experience in TSQL, stored procedures, and ability to perform in an Agile environment. *Qualifications* · Strong or Expert level experience with *DTS and SSIS is REQUIRED!* · 7 years minimum experience as a *Database Developer, Software Engineer, or DBE* · Programming experience with an emphasis on designing complex stored procedures that scale well and are optimized for use in a high volume environment. · Experience in the *physical and logical design of database architecture.* · Experience working in an environment with very large databases and high volumes of data. · Experience with database optimization and performance tuning · Ability to work independently and think creatively under pressure · Ability to provide both detail information and also summarize to a management level · Ability to work through problems and reach a workable solution · Ability to learn large, complex database systems · Willingness to work in an occasional, rotating on-call capacity · Position requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, math or equivalent technical discipline or equivalent technical experience. *Other Information* · Experience with *Microsoft SQL Server 2008* is highly desirable. · Experience with *C# and/or ASP.NET* is highly desirable. · Experience with *Object Oriented programming techniques* and concepts a plus. · Experience using *ERWin* is highly desired.
