*Solaris Linux Admin/Financial Background a must / NYC / 6 months+* Expert knowledge of Sun Solaris 2.8/2.9 and 10 and RedHat Enterprise 4.x, 5.x Expert knowledge of Veritas Cluster Server Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (Solaris Zones, Xen, VMWare, etc.) Administration of Unix core services and applications such as NIS, NFS, automount, LDAP, DNS, DHCP, Samba, SendMail, Apache, NTP, sudo, Jumpstart/Kickstart, SSH, samba, strace, truss, IPMP Should be comfortable performing system upgrades, installing layered products, and analyzing and troubleshooting complex production systems. Solid understanding of TCP/IP and basic networking – ability to use and understand output of tcpdump/snoop Hands-on experience with various Sun hardware, particularly SunFire V490/E2900/E4800/E6800/E6900 Knowledge of RAID technology, Veritas Volume Manager for Solaris 4.x/5.x, Solstice DiskSuite 4.x.x and EMC PowerPath 5.x to manage several terabytes of data Strong knowledge of system performance and monitoring tools such as CA UniCenter, sar, iostat, vmstat, etc. Strong programming skills with Perl, awk, sed, Shell script (Bourne, C, Korn) Basic knowledge of EMC SAN storage arrays and NetAPP Network Appliances. Should be familiar with system administration regarding databases (Sybase, Oracle) and WebSphere MQ. Some experience with a market data distribution system, Reuters RMDS a plus.
