*VAX Cobol Developer* *Location: St.Louis** ,MO **Duration: 12 months* *Job Description:* *Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging, and documenting programs. May require a Bachelors Degree. Requires at least 5 of experience in the field or in a related area. Open VMS / Alpha is a must; need experience within the last year.* Client now wants someone with *Dec Forms. Checking to see if that is deal killer.* They need a VAX Cobol developer. What client is looking for are *COBOL/VAX/VMS* developers with *RMS index sequential *(flat file) development exp. (There is no DB2.) Ideally, this individual will also be able to read *C/embedded C business rules*, have prior exp with *WebSphere MQ.* Note - what they are doing is converting old *Corba messaging *which was coded in C/embedded C to COBOL (which is how WebSphere MQ messaging is developed). Essentially, the person will be converting several C messaging modules to COBOL. Al indicated that we should look for someone with a min. of 5 years in COBOL/VMS development, even if it's dated. The person will just need to ramp up fairly quickly.
