*Job Description: (What will the contractor do on that project?)* § This position is for a Senior Systems DBA which has 8+ years of working knowledge and skills as an Informix systems DBA. *Duties include:* § Plan, schedule and install Informix DBMS system software on SUN, HP, and AIX Unix platforms as required for strategic AT&T applications. Support multiple instances on the various platforms. § Manage Informix DBMS software and utilities, including configuration, DBMS technical product support, DBMS tuning and monitoring, physical database design, implementations, database backup/recovery configuration, set-up and operation, database space monitoring, database alert monitoring, and database application account administration. § Support failover, data replication, and disaster recovery systems, including setup, configuration, testing and validation. § Evaluate and implement new Informix database technology. § Provide consultation with user administration groups, program product developers, application development groups and other client organizations on strategies for the implementation and support of the Informix DBMS. § Coordinate as needed with UNIX System Administrators and Application DBAs. § Requires excellent communication and documentation skills, the ability to work well with others, and to be able to balance multiple work activities. § Knowledge of Informix online release levels 5, 7, 9 and 10, as well as Standard Engine, Informix High Performance Loader, Client SDK, I-Connect, and JDBC. § Familiarity with implementation and support of TSM, ISM, and NetBackup. § UNIX commands and scripting, as well as basic SQL required. § Knowledge of SQL performance tuning. § Ability/willingness to be part of a 24/7 call rotation and support.
