Duration- 12 Months Rates : $55/hr
The ideal candidate will combine strong Cognos BI administration background with good technical and time management skills. The successful candidate will be part of a team that provides support for a variety of projects utilizing several Cognos BI environments, both production and non-production. Responsibilities: * Architect and design Cognos BI environments * Coordinate, facilitate and perform installation and configuration of Cognos BI environments * Administer and provide support to developers and end users of the Cognos BI environment * Participate in capacity planning activities. Optimize and implement standards and best practices. * Automate monitoring of Cognos BI environments for capacity, performance and availability * Automate recurring tasks including user administration, Cognos object publication, etc * Participate in on-call rotation to provide off-hours and weekend support Requirements: * 5+ years of product implementation, administration or development experience of Cognos BI 8.x * Excellent knowledge of and experience using the Cognos BI 8.x suite of products, including but not limited to, Query studio, Report studio,Analysis studio, PowerPlay Transformer, Metrics Studio, Event Studio, Framework Manager * Knowledge and experience in platform sizing, optimization and tuning of Cognos BI 8.x * Knowledge of application development and system architecture design * Knowledge and experience in implementing user level and data level securities within Cognos * Practical experience of basic SQL skills * Mid-level AIX skills * Working knowledge and experience in Windows 2003 server administration * Good understanding of IIS and Tomcat as it relates to the Cognos BI 8.x infrastructure * Good understanding of various database platforms, including Oracle, DB2, MS SQL, Teradata * Administration experience of SunONE LDAP and Cognos Access Manager * Experience with Cognos scripting language * Java, JSP and VBS programming experience would be an added advantage * Experience working with Cognos EP 8.x administration and Cognos controller preferred but not required -- Thanks & have a nice day, Suresh First Soft Solutions Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] | Phone: 732.377.3683 | Mobile: 732.688.3876 | Fax 1.866.569.6621 15 Brook Street, Somerset, New Jersey 08873| www.firstsoftsolutions.com [EMAIL PROTECTED] catch me live in Yahoo messenger..
