Description:
Responsible for capture of the (gathering and documentation) business
requirements regardless of functionality/functional area (includes parts of
PDS and the RD artifacts)
Creates agreed upon business requirements artifacts. (Please reference the
Business Analysis Guidance document).
Works with the Enterprise PM to schedule and drive JAR and JAD sessions as
needed.
Works with the Enterprise PM to identify approvers and interested parties
Works with Enterprise PM to schedule Business Requirements artifact review
meetings (PDS and RD).
Responsible for obtaining required approvals on the documented business
requirements artifacts.
Liaison between IS and Business for issue resolution
Works with the Enterprise Technical Lead and the Application BAs to ensure
that a consistent enterprise approach on all applications.
Relates open issues to the Enterprise PM
Assists the Enterprise PM and Application BAs in managing any Business
Requirement change control.
Responsible for Knowledge Transfer and support of the Application BAs
assigned to the project.
Works alongside IS Technical Lead to define potential solutions with the
Application BAs.
Review the Project Milestones and Estimates and participate in the Project
Milestones & Estimates Review Meeting
Ensure IS solutions meet business needs/requirements by reviewing and
approving the solution documents (functional requirements or equivalent)
from all affected application areas (identified as an Approver).
Works with the Enterprise PM and Application BAs to schedule Joint Solution
Review meetings, where possible.
Reviews Enterprise and/or Application Test Plans
Assists Application BAs with questions and issues arising from System Test
Cases and System Test Reports.
Reviews and approves as completed the Requirements Traceability Matrices
from each affected application area to ensure business requirements are
being met as agreed upon by the applications.
Responsible for keeping and updating a Glossary of Terminology for the
project.
Assists the Enterprise PM in managing scope
Becomes an SME on the project/product.
Responsible for ensuring creation and distribution of meeting minutes for
any meeting for which the EBA is an owner.
Documents changes to Business Requirements in the Project Definition &
Scope and Requirements Document, and provides input to EPM for Change
Requests
Other agreed upon roles as defined in the project profile
Experience
Minimum of 8+ years IT experience with focus on process methodologies and
analytics. Experience with Business Process Mapping; IT Project Planning,
Definition and Management; IT Business Requirements Definition using
structured methodologies and toolsets. Ability to produce concise, clear,
and complete business requirements. Ability to prepare and deliver organized
and understandable presentations to medium or large groups. General
expertise in the functional aspects of the processing system.
Position Summary:
Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization
in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs. Assist in
business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology.
Analyze business partner's operations to determine opportunities to automate
processes and functions if applicable. Translate high level business
requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization and
manage changes to such specifications. Identify business, operational and
technical tasks, scope, time constraints and task interdependencies. Lead
walkthroughs of business requirements. Works as a project team member on
multiple projects to facilitate process improvements (operational and
technology centric) involving multiple sites or business areas, often as a
project leader. Coaches and mentors more junior staff
Duties:
Responsible for end-to-end ownership of projects and project planning
activities in area of expertise and/or concurrent multiple for assigned
team. Participate in program design and code walkthroughs. Review test plans
and results providing guidance with the development of test plans to assist
the business with development of user acceptance criteria. Demonstrates an
informed knowledge of business area to resolve problems on an ongoing
business. * Business Solution Scope and Requirements Definition: (a)
Understands the implication of the business goals and priorities to drive
the definition of scope of functionality and is able to identify any related
cross enterprise impacts; (b) Optimize scope focusing on critical
requirements defining and developing business requirements using techniques
such as functional decomposition, business process re-engineering / mapping,
and logical data modeling; (c) Assess the gaps between the as is and desired
to be to identify alternative solutions; and (d) Document requirements and
clarify business requirements to IT and subsequently confirm they are met
throughout the SDLC. * Project Planning Management and Business Solution
Assurance: (a) Manage the planning and requirements definition process for
key IT initiatives; (b) Improve project quality - facilitate developing the
right solution for the right price by understanding functional processes and
critical business objectives; (c) Facilitate business benefit definition and
resource requirement estimation; and (d) Manage project scope to minimize
risk and maximize probability of successful delivery. * Provide thought
leadership and insight to proposed IT solutions: (a) Research opportunities
and appropriate business application of where emerging and enabling
technologies may be exploited to grow the capabilities of the business; (b)
Consider the technical solution in relation to evolving trends in technology
as well as Caremarks environment and direction.
