Hands on experience with Percussion (Web Content Management System)* Our client supporting the Office of the Associate Director of Communication within the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has a long term need for a Web Content Management Software Developer. The qualified candidate will assist in the design and development of a set of solutions for syndicating our customer’s public health content and rich media products as well as being responsible for the management of those solutions once developed. Roles and Responsibilities: 1. Assist content owners with migration of cdc.gov websites into Web Content Management System (WCMS) from current HTML/XHTML web sites 2. Help develop tools to automate migration of current websites into the WCMS 3. Work with content owners to gather requirements for WCMS system enhancements and prioritize future development efforts 4. Build new WCMS templates with apache velocity, html, css, and JavaScript 5. Implement enhancements via Java extensions to WCMS system using the Java APIs available in the system 6. Support existing WCMS implementation by debugging and troubleshooting the Java/J2EE WCMS application 7. Assist integrating the WCMS application with other content centric applications already in use including mobile and syndication applications 8. Perform architecture, product enhancement and maintenance development tasks 9. Perform code reviews and manage project commitments 10. Provide development estimates and identify risks associated with the effort 11. Provide prototypes / proof-of-concepts to the business (content) owners and users as a part of the requirements gathering process 12. Prepare design documents and conduct reviews with senior development staff.
