Experience in Oracle RAC cluster database environment. Clear understanding of DB configuration parameters, all levels of Parallelism, compression methods, DB Space management, Advanced security and user access management, roles and privileges. Experience with installing and upgrading Oracle enterprise databases in production and non-production environments. Setting up backup policies using Data Pump, RMAN etc. Monitoring critical parameters and performance tuning of databases and queries for efficiency and help drive improvements. Collecting statistics and analyzers, running Diagnostic tools. Understanding and experience with managing different types of tables, indexes, constraints, partitioning etc. Strong skill and experience in Unix shell scripting and Oracle PL/SQL and SQL coding languages to develop monitoring and automation for DBA tasks and also help development team to tune application codes for efficiency. Production support: troubleshoot, report, and prioritize bugs on operational issues Coordinating with IT and developers on new product releases * HP Vertica DBA Job description:* Around 2 year of experience in HP Vertica Analytics database administrator tasks. Managing License and monitoring database size, Disk storage management and monitoring,storage locations, policies. Clear upderstanding of major configuration parameters. Managing Nodes, Node types, Fault group, Rebalancing. Collecting DB statistics and using Diagnostic tool. Clear understanding of different types of Projections, Segmentation, Partition, types of Tables and Constraints Perform data loads to Vertica, Migrating large scale data from Oracle DB to Vertica DB using different methods. Understanding and experience with different user roles and privileges. Strong skill in Unix shell scripting. Added preference is Python or Java coding languages used mainly for Vertica cluster database adminitration jobs. Administration and monitoring experience using Vertica Management Console (MC) and Administration Tools.
