What about something like this (in your control file) :
DummyDate varchar2(01:09),
UserName varchar2(10:17),
BirthDate date(18:21) "TO_DATE( :DummyDate || :BirthDate,
'RRRR-MM-DD HH24:MI' )"
I can't test it here at work, but it might prompt some ideas ...
