I cut and pasted this from the
Oracle Magazine (November/December 1999)
http://www.oracle.com/oramag/oracle/99-Nov/69dba.html
"Pinning Tables and Indexes in the Database Buffer Cache
- With Oracle8, you can use buffer pools to pin frequently accessed
table and index blocks in the database-buffer cache. Every SGA
has at least one buffer pool - the default pool - in the database-buffer
cache. You can also create two other pools - keep and recycle - in the
database-buffer cache for holding frequently and infrequently accessed
data buffers, respectively. "
Everything you need should be in the article!
Cheers,
Renato
