Does anyone know if there is a way to tell Oracle to properly log TNS
listener failures on NT servers?

I know I can set the auditing level higher in listener.ora, but all I want
is for the listener to put an entry in Event Viewer when it fails. I don't
want my log files to grow exponentially.

I have a server here whose TNSListener service started at 6:10 this morning,
but at 7:55 the service was stopped. No record anywhere of when it went
down, or the cause.

This box is outside the firewall so polling the listener via the OEM or
similar tools, or snmp is not an option.

We are still on Oracle 7.3.4.4, perhaps I am expecting too much. Oracle
hadn't finished integrating its software into NT at this version.
