Came across an interesting bug in the rename command (8.1.6.0.0) (see bug 1359472). Seems if you rename a table, you can drop or truncate it without a problem. However, if you rename a table, then later issue a 'drop user userame cascade;', a bogus entry is placed into the obj$ table, an ora-0600 is returned, and neither the table nor the user can be dropped. This is rather unfortunate, as rename is a very convenient command.
