But, OTOH, it is clear from the make errmsg
that it is NOT properly installed.
Without more info, impossible to tell.....

What is the variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH ? Does it include $ORACLE_HOME/lib
and /usr/ucblib ?
Also check file / directory permissions. Is $ORACLE_HOME its own mount
point?

I issued the command you suggested (the which cc comand) and it found the
compiler just fine. If I relink the oracle executables it works fine.
Any other thoughts?
