In version 8 and above you can set a trigger on logon. 

 CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER sys.login_trigger
 AFTER LOGON ON DATABASE

You could use the trigger to keep a table of logon's into the database.

Hi,

we would like to log all the connections made to the 
database. currently I can only find the users who logged 
in from the client using net8 tcp/ip. BUT Which log file 
captures log of logging from unix server NOT using net8 
tcp/ip. connecting using ipc.
