Walter,
There are several, as I remember it 4, levels of compliance with the ANSI
SQL Standard. If I remember it right they range from Entry Level (minimum
compliance) to Fully Compliant With Extensions with a couple in between. I
believe, someone can correct me if I'm wrong, MicroSoft SQL*Server is only Entry
Level compliant while DB2/Informix and Oracle are Fully Compliant With
Extensions. I believe Sybase is Level 3 compliant meaning they have no
extensions. Level 2 I believe is fully compliant without a procedural
interface.

Which RDBMS is more ANSI SQL compliant, Oracle or MS
SQL Server?
I have some frustrated SQL Server developers that only
understand how to write inner and outer joins using
SQL Server's syntax. Don't DB2, Informix and Sybase
use the same method of defining joins as predicates?
Just curious. Maybe I'm crazy.
