Users hold back on plans for .Net

At a Microsoft-related conference last week, many IT managers said they're
confused by the software vendor's multifaceted .Net technology initiative and
aren't rushing to make plans to move to the new Web-based computing services
platform.

Microsoft postpones Office XP subscription plan in U.S.

Reversing a plan put in place last summer, Microsoft said it has decided not to
offer its new Office XP application suite to U.S. users via an Internet-based
subscription service when the software first becomes available.
