We do it using SCCS. We have some homegrown scripts written on top of SCCS
commands. Development staff have different options, like
* Move code to Development
* Move code to Acceptance
The files gets checked in and copied to appropriate directories. DBA's then
load them in appropriate DB.
Once it is production ready, it is moved in Acceptance and then DBA's take
over. They have a different menu like
* Move from Acpt to Production
This automatically checks out a read-only copy of the specified file and
moved to a specific directory, whose access is restricted. Then DBA log in
as schema owner and run the scripts to load the code. Any errors are sent
back to the developer who requested the change.
These scripts have been written 3 or 4 years ago, I don't know who wrote it,
but it has been working nicely. We put our forms in PVCS though ...
