I have an old server here, NT with OWS 3.0.1.1. on it. We are upgrading to
iAS 1.0.2. soon...

In the meantime, we now have a conflict on the server, a PL/SQL cartridge
application is causing errors - the transaction table is full.

        ORA-02042 too many distributed transactions
Cause: the distributed transaction table is full, because too many
distributed transactions are active.
Action: increase the init.ora "distributed_transactions" or run
fewer transactions. If you are sure you don't have too many concurrent
distributed transactions, this indicates an internal error and support
should be notified. Instance shutdown/restart would be a work-around.

The developer hadn't SET TRANSACTION READ ONLY before doing remote queries,
but that has been fixed I have been told. Meanwhile I increased the
distributed_transactions parameter on the Oracle 7.3.4.5.2. database from
the default of 16 to 64. We are still seeing that error.

Where can I see what is in this distributed transactions table? I checked
the dba_2pc_ views and they are empty. I also checked the dba_db_links
views, but couldn't see anything extraordinary there either.

Any ideas?

I am going to search on Metalink again, in case there is something buried in
the old technical notes...
