I use OEM 2.1... whenever I use schema manager and sort by object type on a
7.3 database it causes an error about some view being missing. I have never
bothered to look further into it as most stuff seems to work ok against
oracle 7.3 and our 7.3 database(s) will most likely be short lived anyway.
In short... there seem to be some minor incompatibilities but the increased
functionality make up for that... as long as you have enough memory and a
fast enough CPU!!!

Personally, I don't think you should bother looking at upgrading OEM.
Granted the newer version has a vast number of new features - but these are
mostly related to > Oracle 8. The new version is a lot more cumbersome than
the 1.6 version as it now runs in java also. As far as I'm aware, all
versions of OEM are backwards compatible to at least 7.3, and I *should
think* 7.2 but am not sure. The current version of OEM is 2.2 by the way.
If you are going to be upgrading to Oracle 8 in some shape or form, OEM 2.x
will be supplied along with it.. Upgrade then..

I currently have OEM version 1.6.0. I am connecting to databases that
are at version 7.2 and 7.3.3.6 I would like to know what the most
current version of OEM is that still supports those "older" versions of
Oracle? Is there a compelling reason to upgrade OEM?
Thanks,
