Rajarm;
  This won't answer your direct question but it may give you a little
insight.

  The short version is that the syncsort sort routines replace those
normally used by the engire.

I have used syncsort on the mainframes running VM and MVS and find them to
be a VERY GOOD sort routine. We used then in all of our COBOL progams to do
sorts versus letting DB2 do them for us. I do not know how their sort
routines work ... but they work very efficiently.

Hi,
   I want some informarmation about SyncSort for Unix. If anyone is using
sincsort under unix - I need the following details:
1. What is the basic purpose of syncsort? ( I have gone thru
www.syncsort.com - So, I dont want this answer).
2. How is sync sort used in data loads or data warehousing? Is there any
documentation online? Any whitepapers?

TIA,
Rajaram
