To rename the listener.log, try this(on Unix)

1) cp listener.log listener.log.bu
2) cat /dev/null > listener.log

OR you can have the following shell script submitted to cron to rename log
file 
at regular intervals.

===============
DT=`date +%m%d%y%H%M`
cp listener.log listener.log.$DT
cat /dev/null > listener.log
===============
