Check the parms in the /etc/system and in the init as well....

We ran into this when we did not have enough semaphores/message queues
defined on the system.

Also look in the TMPO file system for the ".oracle" directory.. sometimes
removing that afte a shutdone and prior to startup resolved the issue..

I have just installed Oracle 8.1.6 on Solaris 2.6


The machine already has Oracle 8.0.4 installed.. (I shut this database
down, as I intended to remove all of it.

Now I am getting this error when I try to startup my new 8.1.6 database.
