DBA's, Can anyone shed some light on the following query. I have performed a single column update on 1 row (update basic set col1 = 99999998 where col1 = 999999999). The following stats were displayed prior to the update: consistent gets 15291 db block changes 199 db block gets 1120 After the update the stats were as follows: consistent gets 15350 db block changes 209 db block gets 1136 My question is what is it that causes the 'consistent gets' figure to increase, I was under the impression that all blocks would be acquired in current mode. Many thanks for any replies. Dave Leach ********************************************************************** The above information is confidential to the addressee and may be privileged.
