select sum(decode(name, 'free memory', bytes, 0))
"Free bytes in SGA"
from v$sgastat
Percent free:
select round((sum(decode(name, 'free memory', bytes, 0)) / sum(bytes)) * 100,2)
"Free SGA"
from v$sgastat
This is for version 7.3.4.4 on HP-Ux. Should work for others.
