Patrice,

I can't help you all that much since we're using IIS and Oracle 8.0.6.

However, regarding the part about not dowloading JInitiator, I had the same
problem.

To solve it I edited the file $O_H\jinit\us\jinit_download.htm.
(They say you need this file when using Netscape, however it solved my IE4.0
problem.)
This is part of the code :

the installation process has finished, exit your browser and restart it.
Return to the initial application starting page and the browser will then
load Oracle JInitiator and start your Oracle Developer application.

<p><img SRC="arrow.gif" BORDER=0 height=32 width=32 align=CENTER> <b><font
size=+1><a href="../jinit.exe" target="_blank" >download
Oracle JInitiator 1.1.8.3</a></font></b>

I added the 'target="_blank"' part. Otherwise Oracle would try to instal
JInitiator on the server instead of the client.

HTH

Greetings,
Frank
