Hi all,
I have a production box running on oracle 8.1.5
(oracle_home=/u01/app/oracle/product/8.1.5) I created
a new directory /u01/app/oracle/product/8.1.6 and I am
trying to Install oracle 8.1.6 which means that I
should have two installations of Oracle on the same
box.
When I run runInstaller, the window that pops up with
the list of products shows ORACLE 8.1.6 server as an
upgrade. It should show fresh install. Even if I
choose upgrade and say next it just closes the window
and does nothing...
I was wondering if any of you have seen this problem
before.
Additional info :
1. There is nothing under
/u01/app/oracle/product/8.1.6 directory it is empty.
2. There is nothing in the environment settings that
is pointing to the 8.1.5 home.
Any useful inputs in this regard is welcome...
