A sneaky little trick on 8.0.6 and below is to use
oradim to remove the service.
ORADIMxx -DELETE -SRVC <service_name>
where ORADIMxx is oradim73 or oradim80
<service_name> is the name of the service to be
deleted (it is not case sensitive)
Be very careful as you can use this to delete
non-Oracle services as well, so use at your own risk!
They fixed oradim in 8i and above so that it can be
used to delete only services named oracleservice<sid>
