Hi,
At my work we run Oracle 8.1.6.3 on Solaris 2.6. We plan to move the databases to a
new box running Solaris 8. What I intend to do is
1) install Oracle 8.1.6.3 on the new box
2) copy databases to the new box
I know that 8.1.6.3 is certified to run on Solaris8. My question is that anything that
I need to be concerned/aware of in moving from Solaris 2.6 to 8?
Previous posts in this forum indicates that gnu C compiler might not work with the
Orale8i installation on Solaris8, and Sun C compiler is not installed with the OS by
default. Is this correct?
Any performance problems that you have experienced with 8i on Solaris8?
Many thanks.
