Ron, Make sure you have atleast applied the archive logs between
Archive old log sequence number before start of hot backup and Archive current log sequence number after end of hot backup. It may not need all of them but you need the last one for incomplete recovery.. The backup was a hot backup. The files are all copied to the new server, along with the archive log that was created a few seconds after the hot backup was run. We bring the database up and apply the archive log and Oracle says recovery complete. We then do an alter database open resetlogs. At this point Oracle says the System file needs more recovery. Oracle said the recovery was complete! Why is it saying the system file needs more recovery? Any ideas? Thanks!
