Ken,
I think the more important question is
"Why are you trying to drop a column in a table owned by Sys?"

Please respond
to ORACLE-L
8.1.7 logged in as SYS.
Will not let me drop a column because it belongs to SYS.
If I am logged in as SYS why can't I drop a column owned by SYS?
