Rich, Have you zeroed in on the exact circumstance(s) causing your ora-00600 error? If so, I would be interested in hearing about it just so I can watch out for it. For example, I encountered a reproducible 600 error when you had a leading or trailing space in a literal -- e.g. ' This is it'. It varied on different environments, and versions, some would see the error others wouldn't.
