Runing OS Commands from Stored Proc.

I want to write a procedure to run os commands . I have read somewhere that I must : Compile the java program. Load it to the DB using LOADJAVA. Create a function call spec to call the program. Turn serveroutput and java output ON.   Question 1) What is loadjava? how is it used ?               2) How is turning Java output on?   TIA Bunyamin
