Cherie, I'm not entirely sure, as I've never done this before - but there is a package in ORACLE_HOME/RDBMS/ADMIN called utljavarm.sql, which seems to do the kind of thing you want. Maybe there is another that fits your needs better, as this one has a warning note about only using it to upgrade/downgrade to 8.1.5..
