Ken, If you are just re-creating the database with the same sid, then you do not need to issue the "ORADIM -delete -sid" command. This command only interfaces with the NT registry to either insert, modify or delete items in the registry.
I'm not sure what you mean when you say " but doesn't seem like anyone else uses this process.". You are correct, in that Unix DBA's do not need to do this, as the NT registry is specific to NT. Did you mean something else?
