On my home PC running Windows NT 4.0, I have an Oracle Database 8.1.6. I had setup the services for this database to start the database whenever the PC is turned on and it used to work fine. But for the last few days when I turn on the PC, the database does not start automatically and when I tried to connect sqlplus, I get "Oracle not available". But when I go to control panel to see the status, I get the status for the service as Started. Now to start the database, I use DBA studio and after that it works fine.
Can someone suggest what could be wrong. Is possible to create another service for this database or reconfigure the existing service. Thanks in advance.
