Again, I beg to differ (with you and the others who questioned my
reponse), and I stand by my earlier post.

Oracle's "alter user" syntax allows for zero, one, or any number of the
user's granted roles to be designated as "default"; from the manual:

DEFAULT ROLE
Specify the roles granted by default to the user at logon. This clause
can contain only roles that have been granted directly to the user with
a GRANT statement.

Oracle enables default roles at logon without requiring the user to
specify their passwords.
