Modify init<sid>.ora + restart the DB

how do I set session_cached_cursors for the whole 9i instance and not for a
particular session?
I tried :
alter system set session_cached_cursors=150 scope=spfile
...but I ended up with ora-02096 - "parameter not modifiable with this
option"
