When posing a question to the list, there are a number of
pieces of information that are required:
The OS platform and version
The Oracle version
Other things that are relevant,
For instance, what does the function do? If it reads 10 million rows
from a table, I would expect it to be slow.
If it's on a version 7 database, there's nothing you can do to make it
fast,
except don't use it.

One of our developer using function in his select statment but the problem
is when he is using order by one of the function results column the query
