One easier way would be to use the export utility of 8.0.4 for exporting the data of 8.1.6.
For example while sitting on 8.0.4 server, Exp80 system@orcl816/manager full=y file=full816.dmp .............. Of course you should have orcl816 conenct string defined in your tnsnames.ora. This generated export file can easily be imported without any problem.
