Hi,
Just recover the datafile is possible. AFAIK only changes in archives that are for that datafile will be applied. As for gotchas. Don't try it on your production database if it's your first time. Recover datafile '/path/filename' Jack "Randy Kirkpatrick" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>@fatcity.com on 04-02-2002 05:05:19 Please respond to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent by: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Multiple recipients of list ORACLE-L <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> cc: (bcc: Jack van Zanen/nlzanen1/External/MEY/NL) Listmembers, Are there any "gotchas" with restoring just one datafile from a hot backup and applying the archive logs? Will applying the archive logs only affect the restored datafile? For instance, if I have a hot backup from Monday and all the archive logs to the current date and a disk crashes which contains the datafile, can I restore just the datafile and apply all the archive logs from Monday forward? Are changes only applied to the restored datafile?
