Check out "Heterogeneous Services" and "Transparent Gateways" on http://otn.oracle.com . I believe that it is possible using a mixture of these two.. Heterogeneous Services are also described pretty well in the Net8 Admin Guide, Section 8 Advanced Net8 Features - Configuring Connections to Non-Oracle Database Services.
